Care guide and a note on colour

At Talking Walls, we work exclusively with natural fibres chosen for their character, texture and longevity. When treated with care, these materials only grow more beautiful over time.

Pieces crafted from silk, linen, cashmere and wool deserve a gentle approach. These fibres are strong by nature, yet sensitive to heat, friction and harsh treatments. Always consult the care label inside your garment.

These garments should not be machine washed. Hand wash only, in water up to 30°C, using a liquid detergent specifically formulated for wool and silk. Do not soak. Handle the fabric lightly — avoid rubbing or wringing — and allow it to air dry naturally, away from direct heat or sunlight. Steaming is preferred over ironing.

If you are uncertain about caring for the piece at home, professional dry cleaning is recommended.

A note on colour

Next to the stories of our walls, colours are our playground and an essential part of everything we create. We care deeply about them. Still, slight variations may occur between the colours you see in our campaign and lookbook images and the final piece you receive. Different fabrics, printing techniques and production runs can all influence how a colour comes to life.

We believe this is part of the beauty of working with real materials, where small variations are simply part of their character.

Stories told

Found in Jodhpur, this hand-painted mural shows a woman in profile, carrying a large chalice on her head with the kind of calm only painted royalty seems to manage. A long black eye, fine nose, pearl-like jewellery, dark hair, gold details, and a green garment, all drawn with elegant simplicity against a worn pale wall.

The beauty sits in the line. Nothing is overworked. A curve for the cheek, a sweep for the eyelid, a few white dots for pearls, and suddenly the whole face is there. Graceful, composed, slightly mysterious.

The surface adds its own story. Small stains, cracks, fading paint, and weathered marks interrupt the perfection just enough. Jodhpur’s heat, dust, and time quietly doing their part.

The colours are restrained but rich: olive green, mustard gold, deep black, soft cream, and small touches of white. More palace wall than postcard. More memory than decoration.

On textile, the profile becomes immediately graphic. The clean lines, jewellery details, and worn surface create a print that feels elegant without becoming too polite.

A lady carrying a chalice on her head, clearly unbothered by gravity or anyone’s opinion.
