A street scene from another time, drawn by hand.
Found somewhere in Yokohama, this beautiful old drawing caught our eye for its quiet charm. There is something about an illustrated street that makes you look a little longer, noticing the details that might otherwise pass by unnoticed.
Unlike a photograph, a drawing leaves room for interpretation. Lines, shapes and small imperfections give the scene a more personal feeling, as if someone took the time to remember the place rather than simply record it.
When translated into textiles, we kept that same drawn quality. The lines and details come together across the fabric, creating a street scene that shifts and reveals itself as the material moves.
A little glimpse of Yokohama, captured on paper and given a new life on fabric.
