Found in Mumbai, this mural brings together a stylised portrait, book pages and green shutters in one intriguing composition. The pages create a sense of depth around the face, while the warm light and soft shadows make the whole scene feel surprisingly intimate.

There is something fitting about using book pages as a backdrop. They suggest stories, fragments and things left unsaid, while the face in the centre seems to invite you to look a little closer.

When translated into textiles, we kept that same feeling of layers and mystery. The face, pages and shutters come together across the fabric, creating a composition that reveals different details as it moves.
