Found tucked away in a timeworn antique shop in Antwerp, this poetic image caught our eye with its soft colours and gentle sense of movement. The branches trail downwards, carrying clusters of rose, coral and spring green across the surface.

The dark trunks bring a quiet strength to the scene. Against them, the blossoms feel almost weightless, as though they are drifting rather than growing.

There is something wonderfully old-fashioned about the image. It feels like a small piece of forgotten beauty, discovered among the objects and stories that tend to gather in antique shops. Nothing dramatic, nothing trying too hard. Just flowers, branches and a composition that has managed to keep its softness.

That is what made us stop. The colours feel calm, but the blossoms give the image enough movement to keep it from becoming still. The longer you look, the more the branches seem to reach beyond the edges of the scene.

When translated into textiles, we kept that same gentle movement. The trailing blossoms spread across the fabric, while the folds allow the branches and flowers to shift and overlap as you move.
