A hummingbird, a few old music sheets and a wall full of memories.

Found at Serge Gainsbourg’s house at 4 Rue de Verneuil, this delicate artwork caught our eye with its contrast between the fragile bird and the weathered wall around it. Vintage music sheets form the background, while colourful graffiti adds another layer to the image.

The hummingbird brings a quiet reference to “Melody Nelson”, where Gainsbourg likened her to a bird. Nature and music come together in a small detail that asks you to stop and look a little longer.

There is something rather fitting about finding this tribute on a peeling wall. The music sheets, the graffiti and the passing of time all become part of the image, creating something that feels both fleeting and strangely enduring.

When translated into textiles, we kept that same layered feeling. The hummingbird, fragments of music and traces of colour come together across the fabric, creating a composition that reveals itself differently as it moves and folds.
