If walls could talk, they would certainly do on the ceilings of Via Canalino.

In the streets of Modena, the galleries along Via Canalino hide a world above eye level. Look up and the ceilings become part of the story, covered with images, colours and decorative details that make the passageways feel almost like rooms in the open air.

What caught our eye is the simple fact that all of this is overhead. You could easily walk through without noticing, focused on the street in front of you. But once you look up, another layer of the city appears.

There is something wonderfully unexpected about finding this kind of decoration in a passageway. It feels intimate despite being completely public, as though the city has quietly decided to decorate its ceilings for anyone curious enough to look.

When translated into textiles, we kept that feeling of looking up and discovering more than expected. The decorative elements come together across the fabric in layers, creating a design that reveals new details as the folds move.
