Discovered in a New York pizzeria, this image begins with a ceiling most people would probably never notice. Pressed tin panels, old fans, exposed pipes and a single glowing lamp are all painted in the same intense red, turning an ordinary room into something unexpectedly theatrical.

The beauty lies in looking up. While everyone else is focused on the pizza, the ceiling quietly steals the scene. Ornamental patterns, industrial wiring and decades of practical additions all merge into one bold composition, somewhere between old New York charm and complete visual chaos.

“Hey Johnny! Bring me one more slice of pizza, willya?” he shouted across the room. Little did he know Johnny wasn’t the guy behind the counter. He simply happened to be sitting beneath one of the most wonderfully over-the-top red ceilings in town.

When translated into textile, the embossed patterns, pipes, shadows and layers of red created a design full of depth and rhythm. What first looked like one colour revealed countless tones, details and traces of time.
