Sometimes the best part of a pizzeria is not on the plate.

Discovered in New York, this ceiling caught our eye simply because it was so easy to overlook. Pressed tin panels, old fans, exposed pipes and a single glowing lamp are all painted in the same intense red, turning an ordinary ceiling into something unexpectedly theatrical.

The beauty is in looking up. Ornamental patterns, industrial wiring and years of practical additions come together in one wonderfully over-the-top composition. While everyone else is focused on the pizza, the ceiling quietly steals the scene.

“Hey Johnny! Bring me one more slice of pizza, willya?” he shouted across the room. Little did he know Johnny wasn’t the guy behind the counter. He simply happened to be sitting beneath one of the most wonderfully over-the-top red ceilings in town.

When translated into textiles, we kept that same sense of depth and visual chaos. The embossed patterns, pipes, shadows and layers of red come together across the fabric, revealing different tones and details as it moves.

Sometimes you just have to look up.
