Fire Bird

Found somewhere in Belgium, this old cookie tin carries a scene that feels far more exotic than biscuit storage strictly required. Two flamingos stand by a lake, wings lifted, orange feathers flashing against a deep blue background.

A small African dream, embossed on Belgian tin.

The image has that wonderful vintage confidence: decorative birds, stylised reeds, dramatic sky, tiny floral borders, and just enough wear to keep the whole thing from becoming too perfect. Rust spots, scratches, softened colours and faded metal give the scene its second life.

The flamingos are elegant, but also slightly theatrical. Long necks, sharp beaks, lifted wings, standing there as if the lid of a cookie tin was a perfectly reasonable place to perform.

The blue does most of the magic. It turns the background into sky, water, distance and decoration all at once. Against it, the orange details feel warm, graphic and surprisingly alive.

On textile, the contrast becomes rich and immediate. Birds, reeds, sky and worn metal merge into a print that feels vintage, decorative and just a little bit far from home.

A Belgian cookie tin, clearly dreaming of warmer shores.
