A botanical illustration with a little bit of history behind it.
Found somewhere in Germany, this beautiful work was created by Jung, Koch and Quentell, three scientists who designed educational charts for the Hagemann Publishing Company. In the late 1940s, these charts were used as learning aids in German schools.
What makes the illustration so appealing is the combination of scientific purpose and visual beauty. Something designed to teach becomes something we simply want to look at.
When translated into textiles, the botanical illustration becomes an all-over composition, allowing the original details to move across the fabric and change with every fold.
A little piece of German educational history, turned into something you can wear.
