A wall that suddenly decided to become an aquarium.

Found in an alleyway in Antwerp, this painted scene brings together blue water, green fish, pale silver shapes, rough concrete and black cracks. Somewhere near the bottom, a little pink graffiti drifts into the image too, because apparently the ocean needed a street accent.

The fish look cheerful, but never too polished. Some are bright and graphic, while others are already half dissolved into the wall. Paint fades, textures break through and outlines wobble slightly. The surface underneath remains visible, giving the whole scene the feeling of something that has slowly become part of the building.

The blue gives the image its freshness. Not tropical-postcard blue, more Antwerp-wall-trying-its-best blue. Which is much better. The rough concrete keeps everything grounded, while the fish bring in that small, absurd moment of escape.

That is what caught our eye. You could be walking through the city on your way to work, taking the same route you always take, and suddenly there is an underwater world between two buildings.

A few steps through Antwerp, and suddenly the Pacific. Or at least the Antwerp version of it.

When translated into textiles, we kept that same faded, playful feeling. The blue tones and hand-painted fish move across the fabric, while the worn textures add depth and keep the underwater scene from feeling too perfect.
